Dr. Tony Das is an interventional cardiologist and endovascular specialist who has been in practice in Dallas for over 20 years and is considered a world’s expert in the field, Dr. Das was the first cardiologist board-certified in peripheral vascular interventions in Dallas.

Dr. Das graduated with high honors from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1990. He went on to medical residency at Harvard Medical School’s Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from 1990 to 1993 and completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Disease from 1993 to 1996 at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. 

He has been in practice with Cardiology and Interventional Vascular Associates (CIVA) of Dallas since 1996. Currently, he serves as the Division Chief of Cardiovascular Services and the Director of Innovation and New Technology Research at the Walnut Hill Medical Center. Prior to this, Dr. Das served for many years as the Director of Peripheral Interventions at Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.  Other accolades include“D” Magazine’sBest Cardiologist in Dallas for 10 years in a row, Texas Monthly’s “One of the Best Cardiologists in Texas” and “Best Cardiologists in the US” by the association of Best Doctors in America.  He also has the honor of being the interventional cardiologist to former President George W. Bush. Throughout his career, he has concentrated on education and research while maintaining an extremely busy clinical practice. 

As a founding member of VIVA (Vascular Interventional Advances) he has helped organize The annual national training course for thousands of physicians focused on endovascular therapy since 2003.  He teaches monthly observational courses to train physicians from around the world in the techniques of Chronic Total Occlusion ( CTO) recanalization, carotid stenting and other new state of the art technologies. 

His procedural experience exceeds 20,000 cases and commonly includes numerous second opinion consultations and referred cases. He is actively involved in clinical research and has been the principal investigator for numerous national clinical trials.  Along with his research and teaching, he has authored numerous articles and abstracts on peripheral and cardiovascular disease. Current projects include development of an FDA approved wearable technology to assess HR, HR variability, Max VO2, and arrhythmias with a company called LivMor.
